Round and Round

Lately, Kyla Mae and I have been going round and round in little mini "battle-of-the-wills" contests. The score is about tied.

I'm not sure what is going on with her. With me. But, we're butting heads pretty regularly and it frustrates the dickens out of me.

Maybe we're a lot more alike than I give her credit for.

Sigh.

She's still pretty cute. I think we'll keep her around.

4 of you are mildly amused:

  1. I feel your pain! I've been going round and round with my 10 year old for, well, 10 years it seems ;) ... although recently i did discover that *I* am the source of that game *with us* most of the time {sigh} ...

  2. I think it's a result of us teaching them to be strong and think for themselves instead of letting peers be a huge influence. We pay the price for them to gain wisdom

  3. The look on her face in that picture is one I have seen a thousand times lately on my little 'angel'!!! This weekend she 'tattled on me' to my mom several times, and she also yelled at me, "you don't know what's best for me; you don't know anything about me!!!" I tried not to laugh as I sent her to her room to cool off.......... Prayers goin up for you & yours!

  4. No great wisdom from here I am afraid. But I do remember those years and how it felt being the "cruel mom" - but from what I know of your kids they are pretty well-behaved and my Dad always said "as long as they behave well when we take them out of the house - we must accept them as they are at home - we all need somewhere to relax". But I recognice the look. My daughter as you might know went to a Rudolf Steiner school her first 5 years and they were taught that babies looked down and picked their own parents. Maybe that was why I think she was a bit older before the "fight" started. I bet Dad is more popular?? That's what I remember we saw.
